To my knowledge there has not been any state or federal funding provided for the EBT. Much restoration work has progressed over the past few years in cooperation with volunteers from the "Friends of the East Broad Top." WebThe East Broad Top stopped operating in 2011, due to a variety of circumstances. In 2024, a press release stated that the owners, the Kovalchick's, were looking for a buyer for the railroad. In February of 2024, it was announced that the railroad had been sold to a group of investors and railfans, and the new company is a non-profit.
