When the fan is on high, 100% of the 12 volts goes to the heater fan, as you turn it down to lower speeds, the electricity goes through a series of resistors to slow it down. the resistors have burned out and now the only path left is the full voltage path. Web11 de ago. de 2010 · 1992 chevy C1500: Heat works on low speed, no medium, and high only works intermittantly. On any other vehicle it sounds like the blower fan switch. The fan switch provides power or ground to the resistor and there would be a high speed blower relay to bypass the resistor.

I almost went the blower route but decided to replace the heater control assembly instead after reading some good posts on this AWESOME Forum. Glad I did it was a 30 min at most $90 fix.
