Theoretical melting point
WebbMelting point is a key parameter in the unified physicochemical property estimation relationships scheme because it is a determinant of several other properties including vapor pressure, and solubility. This review describes the first-principals calculation of the melting points of organic compounds from structure. WebbThis makes practical sense because there are two different substances. Even though they have the same theoretical melting point, since there are two difference substances, the melting point range would be much wider because the heat distribution takes a long time to spread out when there is a hybrid mixture due to differing size of molecules.
